The Secretary of State has not completed the regulations so that the required Notary Public Education can be presented. We will be ready immediately when sponsors are allowed to apply for approval. Our course meets all the requirements so approval should be quick.

This delay has created ridiculous problems for notaries who have to renew after July 1, 2005. You have to show proof of completion of your notary public education and you can't take the courses. We have been told emphatically that we can't let someone attend now and give them a completion certificate after we get approval. If any school tells you they can do this, you best check with the Secretary of State Notary Section at (916) 653-3595 because they can't.

The Notary Section recommends that you take the test now and then complete the course later. You will be put in a "future file" and when you send in your certificate of completion, your commission will be processed faster. Also, if you want to postpone taking the exam until June, for example, and heaven forbid you fail, you would not be able to retest until July. Test now.

However, since you don't want to take an education seminar twice, we have an alternative. If you sign-up for our "certification" program, we will send you 144 questions to review, an up-to-date copy of the State Handbook, our live seminar on 4 CD's, and practice exams. Then you would come to one of our locations as soon as possible to test. We recommend that you arrive at 2:15 p.m. to take our outstanding "final practice exam" before the State Test. You must register with us before attending to ensure a spot for the exam.

Then, when the courses are approved, we will notify you immediately. You then can schedule and attend the class and get a certificate to send to the Secretary of State. Since your application is in the "future file" your commission will be processed faster by the Secretary of State's office.

The cost of our program is currently $99.99 but it will be $129.99 when certificates will be awarded. We will send you all the extra materials, provide your testing site and later provide the six-hour course for only $129.99.

We agree that this Notary Public Education program has been flawed from the start. First, it was postponed from January 1, 2005 to July 1, 2005 and still the regulations are unapproved. You are caught in a Catch 22 predicament. Also, companies like ours are in a limbo situation. Hopefully, you will agree that our alternative is the best possible opportunity at this time.
